Teddy Bear Fly-In
Devonport Rotary's flagship annual event — and the research it funds
The Festival
The Teddy Bear Fly-In and Kite Festival is a beloved Devonport tradition. In a long term partnership with the Kite Flyers of Tasmania, families purchase a numbered teddy bear, watch them fly in by helicopter, and then enjoy a day of kites, food, and community fun.
Thank you to everyone who has supported the festival over the years — your support is greatly appreciated and we trust you enjoyed the day as much as we enjoyed putting it on.
Naming Sponsor: Degree C
A big thank you to our naming sponsor Degree C. Their support of the Teddy Bear Fly-In and Kite Festival is greatly appreciated by the Devonport Rotary Club in making this event happen — alongside the generous assistance of Tasmanian Helicopters.
What Your $30 Funds: Gastroparesis Research
Gastroparesis is a condition that affects many people around the world, in Australia, and right here in our own backyard of the north-west coast of Tasmania.
Gastroparesis is a condition whereby the stomach is unable to empty properly. It can cause severe pain, nausea, and weight loss — and current treatment options are limited.
Every teddy bear sold helps fund vital research into this under-recognised condition. When you buy a bear, you're not just supporting a fun community event — you're directly funding researchers working on better treatments.
